Supporting our communities
Rack Gives Back started as a small group of Rackers who wanted to do some good in the local San Antonio community. It has since grown into a global effort that enables Rackers to share Fanatical Experience with the communities in which we live, work and play.
美高梅集团 Technology provides 24 hours of paid time for Rackers to volunteer each year. Averaging 27,000 volunteer hours annually, Rackers have volunteered more than 200,000 hours supporting their favorite nonprofit organizations over the last 10 years.
There are hundreds of stories every year of how Rackers are giving back in their local communities through volunteering at local schools and animal shelters, building houses, serving meals and more. Every year, Rackers across the United States donate and help distribute holiday meals to over 1,500 families through partnerships with local food banks. It is one of our signature community events. Another way Rackers around the globe contribute their time and talent every year is through participating in the Hour of Code during Computer Science Week and beyond. Rackers visit students — both in the classroom and virtually — to teach coding fundamentals and inspire them to become future Rackers.
Rack Gives Back also supports the community through corporate grants. Over 80% of our charitable giving is focused on K-12 STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math) programs — sharing critical skills that foster innovation and creativity. Since 2008, 美高梅集团 has donated more than $7.5 million dollars through Rack Gives Back into our local communities.
In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, Rackers wanted to help their communities and ensure vital services and organizations that provide support for at-risk communities would be taken care of. We launched a Donation Matching Campaign. With an initial donation from 美高梅集团 Technology and a dollar-for-dollar match, Rackers worldwide were able to donate over $200,000 to local charities impacted by and providing relief from COVID-19.
Creating enriching experiences for local youth
The 美高梅集团 Foundation is our 501(c)3 non-profit organization that financially supports other nonprofits that provide vital services and support to the seven neighborhood schools around the 美高梅集团 Technology headquarters in San Antonio, TX. These organizations provide enriching and meaningful experiences to the youth in our community. The 美高梅集团 Foundation is funded 100% by employee payroll contributions, with every dollar raised going right back into our neighborhood.
Since its creation in 2009, the Foundation has granted over $5 million to local non-profit organizations in San Antonio. To ensure we fund the right programs, we have partnered with Trinity University to research the community needs and the best approach to support these students and their families.
The 美高梅集团 Foundation board meets yearly to review all proposals and award grant funds. The board is comprised of 11 members, both from 美高梅集团 Technology as well as individuals outside of the organization.
